Montserrado Technical Institute (MTI) celebrated an inspiring display of creativity, knowledge, and innovation during its Annual Science & Innovation Fair, held on campus this year. The event brought together students from upper elementary to senior high levels, all showcasing projects that demonstrated strong technical skills, real-world problem-solving, and a passion for scientific discovery.
The Science & Innovation Fair is one of MTI’s flagship academic events—designed to encourage students to explore STEM fields, think critically, and work collaboratively. This year’s fair exceeded expectations, leaving teachers, parents, and community leaders impressed by the level of talent and originality displayed.
A Day of Creativity, Curiosity, and Discovery
Students presented a wide range of projects across science, engineering, and technology. From simple experiments to fully functioning models, each project reflected MTI’s commitment to hands-on learning and technical education.
Featured projects included:
-
Solar-Powered Home Lighting System – showing how renewable energy can support households during power outages.
-
Low-Cost Water Filtration Device – aimed at helping families in rural and urban communities access clean drinking water.
-
Mini Automated Door System – designed using basic electronics and sensors.
-
Soil Testing Experiment for Urban Farming – a practical tool for local agriculture.
-
Computer-Based Educational Game – created to improve learning for lower graders.
Parents, teachers, and invited guests were given guided tours as students confidently explained their project concepts, procedures, and outcomes.
Top Performers Recognized
At the end of the fair, the judging panel—consisting of MTI science instructors and local STEM professionals—selected the projects that best demonstrated innovation, practical application, and presentation skills.
🏆 Winners of the 2025 Science & Innovation Fair
1st Place: “Solar Home Light System” – Grade 11 Science
2nd Place: “Low-Cost Water Filter” – Grade 9
3rd Place: “Mini Automated Door System” – Grade 12 Engineering
The winners received certificates and special recognition from the school administration. Their projects will be displayed in the school’s Academic Showcase Hall for the rest of the term.
Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators
Principal expressed pride in the students’ achievements and emphasized MTI’s long-term commitment to developing young scientists and engineers.
