Montserrado Technical Institute (MTI) was founded on a vision to bring quality academic and technical education to the people of Mount Barclay and its surrounding communities. The dream began in 2005, when Mr. Levi B. Harris shared his passion for technical and agricultural education with Rev. Barromi Davis. Rev. Davis, who grew up in the area, encouraged Mr. Smith to establish a school that would give young people both knowledge and practical skills. With the full support of his family—who shared this vision—they provided the land on which the school proudly stands today.

Drawing from his experience in the United States, Mr. Smith envisioned a modern learning environment where students could gain academic excellence alongside hands-on training in fields such as computer studies and science. His commitment and personal investment have turned that vision into a growing institution dedicated to empowering future leaders and professionals.
