Montserrado Technical Institute (MTI) was founded on a powerful vision to bring quality academic and technical education to the people of Mount Barclay and its surrounding communities. The dream took root in 2005 when Mr. Levi B. Harris shared his passion for technical and agricultural education with Rev. Barromi Davis. Rev. Davis, having grown up in the area, recognized the urgent need for practical education and encouraged the establishment of a school that would give young Liberians both knowledge and hands-on skills.

With the full support of his family—who shared this transformative vision—they provided the land on which our school proudly stands today. Drawing from his experience in the United States, Mr. Harris envisioned a modern learning environment where students could achieve academic excellence alongside practical training in fields such as computer studies and science. His personal commitment and investment turned that vision into reality.

In our early years, with the dedicated support of Miss Alfreda Johnson, the school expanded to include classes from Kindergarten through Grade Six, ensuring that children received a strong educational foundation from their earliest years.

Today, Montserrado Technical Institute continues to serve as a beacon of hope—providing equal access to education, nurturing moral discipline, and preparing students with the skills and confidence to build a better Liberia.
